Danube’s accepted me for the whole time. She gave me the most beautiful things she could and I humbly dare to say that we’ve become friends. She guided me through whole Europe. She protected me. I could drink from her and swim in her as well…

Another town is here. New people. Different atmosphere. Here comes Belgrade. I enjoy the stop here, as well as doing some thinking and relaxing. I’ve done more than 50 days of travelling from Prague, 160 km against the stream, 120 km on foot. I have many hundreds of kilometres of Danube behind me.
The material needed for my little kayak trailer came from my friend Hýňa, who owns a bike-shop in Slany and so he gave all kinds of things. The construction of the trailer itself was the work of another friend, Darek. I had loads of things to deal with before setting off on the journey. Read more
I’m lying in a hammock on a hostel’s terrace in the centre of Budapest. I’m swinging a little and absorbing the surroundings. There is some fluff flying around from trees nearby. I can clearly feel the summer is coming. From the terrace I can see Danube and some big boats filled with tourists.
I am leaving Naplavka. Lots of my friends have created an unforgetable atmosphere. I am leaving this almost undescribeable moment behind me and I feel, that it will stay with me for a long time.
I am putting the paddle into water and going ahead. Along my side I have another six boats and it‘s nice. Some also accompany me walking on shore.
